Michael Chen

I build and run SaaS products end to end. I care about products that are equally efficient for a person, an agent, or automated code, with the same capabilities however it is used.

MailMatter

mailmatter.dev live

Disposable email for developers, test pipelines, and AI agents. Make up an inbox on the spot and read it in the browser, curl it from CI, or hand it to an agent through the built-in MCP server. Built for signup flows, OTP codes, and email assertions in end-to-end tests — no signup, and no mail server of your own to run.

Tabler

tabler.pro in progress

Restaurant reservations for Taiwan. One Worker serves the API, D1 holds the data, and a Durable Object per restaurant fans out realtime floor updates. Diners book from a deep link in a single tap; restaurants embed the whole flow in two lines of HTML. AI analysis, ML over aggregated booking data, and an MCP surface are in progress.

  • React
  • MCP

ToursMatter

toursmatter.com staging

360° panoramic virtual tours. High-resolution panoramas are tiled and streamed on demand, cached globally at the edge, and served through a themeable mobile-first viewer that embeds anywhere. Org-scoped roles keep client work cleanly separated.

PeopleMatter

An HRMS built on Workers — the people side of running a small company, handled with the same edge-first stack as everything else here.

1001

Cofounder & Lead Engineer · 1001.build

A small studio in Taipei building sustainable software for small teams. I work across the stack, from the frontend down to the database and the infrastructure it runs on.

Projectyl

projectyl.app live

Tasks, docs, chat, and timelines on a single substrate, where everything can reference everything else. Built for teams of 3–10 who are tired of paying three vendors to do one job. It now exposes MCP, so an agent can work the board alongside the people on it.

About

I came to engineering sideways. A medical degree, an MBA, and close to a decade leading QA and localization teams taught me how distributed teams actually function and where the friction really lives. The pattern I kept running into was the same one every time: the work was fine, the tools were the problem. So I started building small fixes, then bigger ones, then went full-stack — and eventually realized the thing I most wanted to build was the substrate itself.

Now I build products and run them: architecture, infrastructure, pricing, support, the lot. Before that, four-plus years shipping production software across health tech, IoT, and enterprise tools, mostly as the person responsible for the technical calls.

The thread running through the current batch is that software should be operable by whoever — or whatever — is doing the work. MailMatter hands an agent its own inbox over MCP. Projectyl exposes a team's work the same way. Tabler is getting the same treatment alongside analysis over aggregated booking data. A clean, documented surface serves all three: a person with an API key, a script running in CI, and an agent working on someone's behalf. They turn out to be the same requirement.
